Course
Information
The cross country course was newly built in 2004 and updated for 2005
and 2006. It is an ideal course for young or novice horses and riders.
There is an assortment of straight forward jumping fences with some
alternative routes all built on pasture headland. The course is over
1.5miles so make sure your horses are fit! There is no water complex.

£6.00 deposit will be kept for bibs on the day
A
£1.00 levey will be taken per entry for first aid costs on the
day. Any excess will be donated to the air ambulance.
Qualification
details
This event is a qualifier for the Finals of the South Essex Insurance
Brokers BHS Cross Country
Championships 2007. In the nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest
placed riders (or two highest
placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIER will
qualify for the
Final. In the event of a combination of horse/pony and rider already
having qualified, the qualification
will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the
Entries Secretary with your BHS
membership number when you enter the qualifier but we recommend you
also carry your membership
card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes but will not
be eligible to qualify. Horses
registered for British Eventing Horse Trials in 2007 are NOT eligible
to qualify for the Finals ('Day
Tickets' are acceptable). Rules at qualifiers may differ from those
at the Finals. Classes at the Finals will
be Novice and Pairs (both max 2 9) and open (max 3'3). The
Finals will take place on 30th September 2007at the Eland Lodge, Sudbury,

Class
1 Very Novice:
Fences not exceeding 60cm Open to any junior or senior on horses or
ponies but must be a genuine novice. Course approx 800m.
Class 2 Novice:
Fences not exceeding 75cm. Junior or senior on horses or ponies.
Course approx 2400m This is a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB
BHS Cross Country Championships 2008
Class 3 Novice Pairs: Fences not exceeding
75cm Course approx 2400m
Open to any junior or senior on horses or ponies. This is a qualifier
for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2008
Class
4 Open:
Fences not exceeding 80cm Course approx 3400m
Open to any two junior or senior on horses or ponies. This is
a qualifier for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships
2008
Class
5 Open Pairs: Fences not exceeding 85cm Course approx 3400m
Open to any junior or senior on horses or ponies. This is a qualifier
for the Finals of the SEIB BHS Cross Country Championships 2008

Late

Withdrawals
- Upon cancellation of the competition entry fees will be refunded
less 10% for administration.

Rules
Find
rules for qualification for SEIB BHS Championships above.
1. Open to all horses and ponies providing that they are a minimum of
four years old in 2005.
2. Competitors need not be members of the BHS to compete but must be
to qualify.
3. Riders must wear a body protector during competing, it is strongly
recommended that it is level 3.
4. No rider is to be mounted without a secured hard hat of PAS 015 or
EN1384 and that bears the kite mark of SEI.
5. Riders can be dressed either for BE cross country phase or for hunting.
6. Gaiters are permitted, half chaps are not.
7. For horse tack restrictions see BE cross country rules.
8. Whips may not exceed 75cms. Spurs if worn must be rounded, not exceeding
3.5cms in length and must be pointed downwards.
9. Gloves must be worn.
10. Strictly run under BE cross country rules.
11.The decisions of the Organiser and the individual fence judges is
final and their requests must be complied with at all times. Competitors
may be eliminated for any one of the following reasons:
Excessive use of the whip
Dangerous riding
Abusive language
Riders
compete entirely at their own risk. The organiser, land owner or their
representatives can not be held liable or be found negligent for any
accident or loss however it Occurred.
