How to find us:
From A518. Travelling from Newport to Gnosall on A518 reaching mini roundabout in Gnosall centre (Stafford A518 turns right) go straight over, up Gnosall High Street and past village shops. Keep on this road and follow narrow, winding lanes through Gnosall and out into countryside. After approx 3 miles competition will appear on right.
From Jct 14 M6. Exit towards Eccleshall on A5013. Approx 2 miles turn left onto B5405. Take 4th left after approx 5 miles, signed to Gnosall. Competition will appear on left after approx 1 mile.

SCHEDULE
Entries by Tuesday 2nd September 2008,

CLASS 1 Very Novice Max Height 60cm
Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies, but must be a genuine
novice.
Course approx 800m.

CLASS 2 Novice Max Height 75cm
Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Course approx 2400m
The two highest placed BHS members to qualify for the BHS SEIB 2008 XC Championship.

CLASS 3 Novice Pairs Max Height 75cm
Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Course approx 2400m.
The two highest placed BHS members to qualify for the BHS SEIB 2008 XC Championship.

CLASS 4 Open Max Height 85cm
Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Course approx 3,400m.
The two highest placed BHS members to qualify for the BHS SEIB 2008 XC Championship.

CLASS 5 Open Pairs Max Height 85cm Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Course approx 3,400m.

Entry Fees: Classes 1,2,4: £15. PC/BRC/BHS Member, £17.50 Non
Member,
Classes 3,5: £22.50 PC/BRC/BHS Member, £25 Non Member

BIBS – A £5.00 deposit will be payable on declaration, which will be refunded when returning your number.

FIRST AID – There will be a £2.50 charge towards First Aid payable when collecting your number.

The course will be open to be walked from 2pm on Friday, 5th September 2008


RULES
Cross country colours or hunting dress is permitted.
Competitors are not permitted to compete more than two horses/ponies in one class
No horse/pony may compete more than once in one class Neither the organisers nor any person acting on their behalf accept any liability or loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, competitors, spectators or any person or property whatsoever.
The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of
everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions
given to them by officials and stewards.
The judge’s decision is final.
All riders must wear a hat to standards PAS015 or BSEN1384, properly secured and preferably without peak, at all times whilst mounted.
Body protectors must be worn by all competitors whilst mounted.
No whip is to exceed 75cm. Any competitor, or person associated with a competitor, verbally abusing an official or
steward will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given. Any rider who has more than one fall whilst warming up is not permitted to compete. All riders must have personally walked the course, read the rules and agreed to abide by
them in order to compete. Second rider fall on course is elimination
No rider will be able to continue once eliminated.

This event is a qualifier for the Finals of the South Essex Insurance Brokers BHS Cross Country Championships 2008. In the nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest placed riders (or two highest placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIER will qualify for the Final. In the event of a combination of horse/pony and rider already having qualified, the qualification will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the Entries Secretary with your BHS membership number when you enter the qualifier but we recommend you also carry your membership card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes but will not be eligible to qualify. Horses registered for British Eventing Horse Trials in 2008 are NOT eligible to qualify for the Finals ('BE Day Tickets' are acceptable). Rules at qualifiers may differ from those at the Finals. Classes at the Finals will be Novice and Pairs (both max 2’ 9”), and Open (max 3’ 3”). The Finals will take place on 28 September 2008, at Eland Lodge Equestrian, Draycott-in-the-Clay, Sudbury, Derbyshire.
